No Height - By Streets Sixteen

What led Urban gospel label Central Streets of Soul to record a single with sixteen different vocalists? This is no choir but 16 urban and soulful gospel artists who are normally found working independently. ‘No Height Nor Depth’ is a recipe of three main ingredients:

1. Community: After great responses to their first Urban compilation, the vision for artists working together began to unfold. This not only manifested itself in collaborations, recordings co-writing & event featuring, but also in the desire to make a positive difference to the world.

2: Inspiration: The song No Height came about whilst driving along Birmingham’s Hagley Road in their old Fiat Panda, Clair and her twin Rose were inspired by Romans 8 v39 ‘No height nor depth…’

3: Passion: to make a difference: After releasing Central Streets of Soul Volume 1 it occurred to Clair that they could get all these artists together to create one song to release for charity. She visited Uganda and Kenya, and started looking at needs in Africa that might be a focus for a fundraising single. This led to an interest in the need for basic clean water and a well digging project in Zimbabwe.

The result of these three ingredients is ‘No Height Nor Depth’; involving in its development four producers, sixteen vocalists and a number of musicians (see below). Each introducing their own slant and vibe to the track; moulded into one by the song writing itself with its rich harmonies, hooks and bold, uncompromising production.

Here’s what Premier Radio’s Loretta Andrews had to say about No height by Streets Sixteen:
‘I love it… ‘ As a HUGE fan of CSOS Vol I I am so excited about this adventurous collaboration. With such an amazing combination of musical talent as ingredients the result is sure to be delicious! CSOS are putting the Midlands firmly on the Urban Gospel map.’
